MyToons Launches Premier Digital Portfolio System

Online Animation Community Introduces Latest Technology to Empower Animators Worldwide

NOVEMBER 17, 2008 – SAN ANTONIO – MyToons.com, the world’s first and only online animation community to offer HD animation, today announced the launch of its ground-breaking Digital Portfolio System. Using the Digital Portfolio System, artists and animators can easily customize a variety of pre-designed layouts or build their own portfolios from scratch. MyToons.com also reinforces the efforts of the artist by supporting each portfolio with an engaged community, trustworthy technology, and dynamic marketing efforts. The MyToons.com Digital Portfolio System will allow animators and artists throughout the world to present their portfolios online while maintaining their unique brand identity.

An animator’s portfolio represents his or her brand identity, and we believe that the creator should have absolute control over how that identity is managed and presented to the world,” said Paul Ford, co-founder and president of MyToons.com. “We are honored to be able to offer animators a powerful, yet easy-to-use tool that provides such broad creative freedom and complete command of their online portfolio. With this robust system we aim to empower artists and animators with the ability to present their portfolios to a global audience with control, creativity, and confidence.”

The MyToons Digital Portfolio System offers a variety of easy-to-use widgets, allowing creators to add animation, artwork, photographs, games, comments, and many other customizable features to their online portfolio. Artists can also choose and personalize pre-designed layouts, customize backgrounds, and use the multiple layouts feature to promote various projects and target the specific needs of clients and fans globally. Creators may easily build their digital portfolios, independent of the need to know HTML.

“As a professional animator, it’s imperative that my work be seen quickly and at the best quality possible,” says Rusty Mills, professional Emmy Award winning animator/director. “The MyToons Digital Portfolio System gives me the power to present my work in a way that allows the presentation to be as artistic as the content it’s showing. It allows me to maintain both my creativity and an established familiarity with my clients. Having it on a well-known platform that I can trust is comforting because I know potential clients can always see my work.”

The Digital Portfolio system is currently available, and ready for exploration. Please visit MyToons.com for more information.

Animation Social Network Invites All Artists to Submit Creepy Artwork & Animation in Celebration of Halloween

OCTOBER 14, 2008 – SAN ANTONIO – MyToons.com, the world’s first and only online animation community to deliver HD animation, today announced the launch of its latest artwork and animation contest, Creepy Cartoons. Creepy Cartoons invites artists and animators worldwide to upload their Halloween-inspired creations in celebration of this ancient Druid holiday. Halloween, much like animation, has transitioned from a kid-centric phenomenon to one increasingly enjoyed by adults.

In the spirit of Halloween, MyToons will award winning animators with Disney & Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: Collector’s Edition DVD, along with the Nightmare Revisited soundtrack CD, as well as celebratory exposure on the highly-trafficked MyToons.com homepage. The 2-Disc collection has been digitally remastered and restored with state-of-the-art technology, and is the first Disney DVD to include a downloadable Disney file. The Nightmare Revisited soundtrack is a frightfully fun collection of cover songs from the cult-classic movie, and features covers from artists such as Danny Elman, Polyphonic Spree, All American Rejects, and Marilyn Manson.

Halloween is a fun holiday that brings out the kid in all of us. Who can resist the opportunity to play a little dress-up or, in this case, toss some gore into our toons?” asks Stacey Ford, CCO and co-founder of MyToons.com. “We are definitely fans of All Hallow’s Eve here at MyToons, and we invite all artists and animators to celebrate the season and share in our enthusiasm. So, dig your animated skeletons out of the closet and send shadowy shivers up the spines of all your fans by uploading your creepiest animations to MyToons.com!”

MyToons.com is accepting submissions throughout the month of October. Members are invited to enter by uploading their artwork or animation and tagging them as “Creepy Cartoons – Halloween.” Selected artwork and animations will be featured daily on the MyToons blog, The Animation Snack, as well as the Creepy Cartoons Channel on the MyToons.com homepage, where it will be available through November 2nd.

The Creepy Cartoons artwork and animation contest begins today and continues through November 2nd. For more information please visit The Animation Snack.

MyToons Launches Pirate Attack on La Villita

Online Animation Company Talks Like Pirates, Descends Upon San Antonio Natives in Pirate Garb in Accordance with National Talk Like a Pirate Day

SEPTEMBER 19, 2008 – SAN ANTONIO – A flotilla of pirates from MyToons.com, today launched a sneak attack on the city’s historic art village, La Villita. Setting sail from the Hyatt, the squadron of river boats and their menacing crews circled the inner-city before disembarking at the Arneson Theater Landing. The unruly band of pirates proceeded to “act piratey.” Sauntering and speaking loudly with bad grammar, they made their riverside assault on the beloved village en route to the city’s upscale urban ristorante and favored pirate haunt and galley, Luca, located in the historic Fairmount Hotel.

We be pirates, we be!” exclaimed Paul “Blackbeard” Ford, Captain of the MyToons Crew. “We got no room for lily-livered scallywags! As the Gentlemen – and Wenches – o’ Fortune that we be, Pirate Day be our Fiddlers Green o’ the year! What with we bein’ the buccaneers that we arrrgh, we be aimin’ to seize the old city gem and feast and revel in that thar booty ‘til she come round again next year.”

The pirate coup, while startling to many of the local “landlubbers”, may actually match up with similar reported sightings from September 19th, 2007. Many reports of “swashbuckling scallywags” were submitted last year, centering around Houston Street, and many lunchtime patrons of the San Antonio Palm claimed that a “loud and lusty crew” accompanied their dining experience with “bonny jigs” and “lots of ‘Arrrgggh-ing.’”

Aye, he be a good Cap’n, he be!” declares an anonymous sea wench. “I’ve worked with me fair share o’ scurvy dogs, but this one, he be a fine example o’ how to cap’n a brig and keep the scallywags in line…And, blimey, this crew, we be the finest swashbucklers e’er to sail the seas!”

National Pirate Day occurs on September 19th every year. The MyToons Crew invites you to celebrate National Pirate Day by visiting MyToons.com/PirateDay – and, of course, by dressing and speaking like a Pirate on September 19th every year. Feel free to share your own pirate day pictures, art, and animation at MyToons.com.

Online Animation Community Invites All Artists to Submit Art and Designs for a Chance to Help Brand the Upcoming Movie “Concrete Jungle” – Including Over $10,000 in Prizes to be Awarded

SEPTEMBER 11, 2008 – Los Angeles – MyToons.com, the world’s premiere online animation and art community, today announced the launch of its latest art competition, The Concrete Jungle. MyToons has teamed up with Grammy award winner and platinum music and film producer Quincy Jones III to give artists from around the world an opportunity to help brand his upcoming hip-hop and skateboard movie, Concrete Jungle. Artists everywhere are invited to submit original artwork and designs for a chance to have their work incorporated into the movie collateral and marketing materials of this ground-breaking new film. In addition, artists will also have a chance at over $10,000 in cash and prizes.

This ground-breaking film, produced by QD3 Entertainment takes an in-depth look at skateboarding, hip-hop and the convergence of the two cultures. The film also features some of today’s most innovative artists, including Pharrell Williams, Tony Hawk, Paul Rodriguez Jr. and many more.

Concrete Jungle takes a look at one of the least understood aspects of urban culture – it’s hip-hop, it’s taking it to the streets with a skateboard, it’s life, and it’s art,” says QD3 Founder, Quincy Jones III. “Art is definitely an integral part of defining this pop-culture phenomenon. Partnering with MyToons and reaching out to its growing community of artists just made sense – it’s a natural fit. We look forward to seeing how the artists are inspired by Concrete Jungle.”

On September 19th, 2008, the celebrity judging will begin with three semi-finalists chosen and announced every Friday. The 30 semi-finalists will then move on to the next round of judging, where 10 lucky finalists will be chosen and put in the running for the Grand Prize. Finalists will each receive a designer 2GB Mimobot USB flash drive, courtesy of Mimoco. On December 3rd, the grand prize winner and two runners-up will be announced. In addition to this once-in-a-lifetime movie branding opportunity, the grand prize winner will also take home a cash prize of $2000, with the runners-up receiving $500 each.

We have such a wide variety of talented creators with unique and distinctive styles,” says, Paul Ford, President of MyToons. “We are eager to see how everyone is inspired to create cutting-edge art for this ground-breaking film, and we’re thrilled to be able to share this opportunity and to help build bridges between the incredible talent of the MyToons community and some of the most influential leaders in Hollywood.”

The MyToons.com Concrete Jungle Contest launches September 11th, 2008. Submissions will be accepted through November 21st, and winners will be announced on December 3rd, 2008. For complete rules and details, please visit MyToons.com/contests/ConcreteJungle.
